Error Message Tone and Approach
- Be human. Use plain language and be conversational. (no more robotic sounding messages.)
- Be straight forward and helpful. Offer a solution if possible.
- Be calm. Do not use words that will stress out users more. No nasty alerts!!! No exclamation points.
- Be specific. Let's not use "catch all" messages for a variety of systems errors. For example, using "validation error" alone will not be enough or specific enough to work.
example: I love how they combined pointing out exactly what is wrong with the helpful next steps.
