In discussing the concept of allowing stock to ride free with MOD items we wondered how much this might costs us. Attention was brought to the fact that many of our smaller LTL shipments go out at a minimum charge (mini's). When this does occur there is some likelihood that adding stock may not actually cost any more (unless/until we reach a certain weight). These numbers are fairly blunt but across all warehouses the numbers look like this:
Roughly 65% of all LTL shipments go out as mini's.
Almost all orders under 600 lbs go out as mini's
At about 900 lbs we have a fairly even mix of mini's and weight based pricing.
Almost all orders at 1200 and above go out at weight based price.
