Laddawn.com : Sharing: Enhanced Functionality 2 - Inclusion of Customer Bill to Number

Pre-2.0, quotations included the name and address of the customer, the bill-to number and the contact’s name. (See below, fig 1.)

Today, when a customer replies or forwards a share, CE can’t tell who it’s for. This creates a significant amount of detective work on behalf of the CE Partner.

Moreover, when a purchasing person at a different Bill-to submits the PO, it can be a nightmare.

Recommendation

Because the customer contact is reflected in the email, we’re all set there. The address and bill-to name is not necessary for CE to perform their work.

However, we need to insert the Bill-to number somewhere on the shared cart or shared item email.

Notes about Bill to Number Placement:

(1)  Since we don't know if customers will share items or carts to us as "Share with Customer" = Yes or No, we should make our design approach hold for either.

(2)  While it might be helpful to new CE reps if we preceded the Bill to number with the phrase, "Customer Number:", it may be confusing the distributor or the distributor's customer ("Who's customer number is that?"), So, when placing the Bill-to number we should place it with a helpful prefix, but nothing that might be confusing:  CN-[Customer Number].  For example, CN-002356. Customer and their end user customers might assume it's a form number.

(3)  Laddawn Bill-to numbers often start with one or more zeros, sometimes not.  For example, Bill-to number 1234 is different from Bill-to number 001234.  Let's be sure to include the full number.

(4)  Placement of the Bill-to number should be

(a) Right justified

(b) In the same type and size font as the text copy used in the body of the item description, for example.  Non-bold, non-italic.

(c) Placed on the bottom of the email.  Suggested spacing:  on the 7th line below the last line of the body of the email.

For example: With Share Cart Emails

For example: With Share Item Emails

Follow the same logic and placement as is shown above with Share Cart Emails:

(a) Right justified

(b) In the same type and size font as the text copy used in the body of the item description, for example.  Non-bold, non-italic.

(c) Placed on the bottom of the email.  Suggested spacing:  on the 7th line below the last line of the body of the email.
