User Preferences
Internal Users on the Web
Functionality:
- Internal users will be able to log onto the website in the same way customers log onto the website. The validation logic will recognize an internal user and allow entry. Once on the website internal users will gain access to special functions allowing them to associate themselves with a customer contact and transact on his/her behalf.
- Internal users will be able to browse the contact database and associate the session with a chosen contact. Once the association is made the system will process all transactions as though they were performed by the chosen contact. In addition, the system will also create a new association between the internal user and the transactions he/she performs.
- Generally speaking the internal user will transact in much the same way that a customer contact transacts.
Standardized Product Descriptions
Search Engine – Web Based
Additional:
Pricing Algorithm:
- The configurator pricing algorithm should include logic to allow the user to place an order for a quantity below our calculated minimum using the price associated with the minimum.
- The configurator pricing algorithm should also factor in lead times in our various manufacturing facilities. The algorithm should price more aggressively for lines that have very short lead times or are in need of work.
Results Functionality
Cart/Quote Functionality
Additional:
Price Changes and Cart/Quote Expiration:
- Cart/Quote will expire after 30 days of inactivity and will be removed from the system at that time. A Cart/Quote will also be removed from the system when it is converted to an order.
- Stock item pricing will be refreshed each time a Cart/Quote is accessed in the process. This will insure that the Cart/Quote carries accurate prices for all stock items at all times.
- Made On Demand items in the Cart/Quote will carry an expiration date. When a line item has expired, the Unit Price and Total Price fields will indicate the expiration and offer a link to Re-Quote the item. The user will have to Re-Quote or remove the line item before further processing can occur.
