Status & accomplishments

Jim and John have interviewed several candidates for the .Net Developer position.  We have one we like and one who we have not yet been able to bring in.  We will bring that person in next Tuesday and then make our choice.   We expect to have this programmer in place by the end of the month.

Jim is in process of of better defining what we really need in an Avante programmer while doing some phone interviewing to get a feel for what people/skills are out their.  He meet with Cathy, John, and Judy soon to better define needs and expectations, and have them talk with candidates as well to get developer's perspective.  He hopes to be able to hire a resource within the next 4-6 weeks.

Susan attended user interface design conference 11/5-7.

 YMAC logic is on track for 11/30. Tom and Cliff completed first cut for two big groupings (bags and reclosables) Weds. 

Steve & Owen worked on tweaks to search result design, based on new YMAC logic.

Completed first pass on My Account/User prefs design - goal was to have basic framework to suport programming efforts. Steve made progress on fleshing out detail for My Company/Co-workers section.

Anticipate completing design for sharing carts by due date of 11/9.
 

Shop widget, due 11/30:

It's difficult to get a read on how long it will take to complete ALL the rules for all the product lines.  Judy continues to spend 20 - 30% of her time on support issues.  The .NET side seems like 2 steps forward 1 step back.  We are not being held up by anything other than technical hurdles. 

Status of level 3 menus – we have completed much of the work for the color options area, but the validations are not yet completed.

Due this week: Go thru As-Is and To-Be content inventories; assign ownership and work; estimate completion date for work that will likely be spread out over a few months. This is needed for more accurate WorkZone scheduling. Date pushed to 11/23.

There is some likelihood that we'll be able to hire a .Net programmer and an Avante programmer between now and our next status meeting.

Steve & Susan in Sterling much of next week for CR training.

Drive to decision on contacts being able to order for more than one bill-to.

Limited UI work due to Susan's/Steve's schedule.

More progress on My account.

Sharing items due 11/16.

YMAC: Tubing/sleeves & sheeting/film.  No YMAC for Accessories.

Expect to have the Materials, Packaging, Venting done.  Also hope to have the Validation handling completely working.

New developers, when hired, would work on the cart area of the site. This way they stay out of the way of Ed.
