Before and After
Before and after training, before and after shipping notifications
I. My attempt to look at some “before and after” stats on workflows, comparing 3 time periods:
- Data from Tina’s presentation in the fall (led to soul searching, training, etc.)
- Data from immediately after the Chocksett training up to when we launched (for real) shipping notifications
- Data following launch of shipping notifications up through last complete week.
Average daily sales order counts (source: Daily Booked Sales) provided as an index of overall business activity.
DEFINITIONS
- "Pure" Avante transactions. Something that can only be done in Avante - 25 workflows (eg, NS made/outside buy, 111).
- "Pure" web transactions - Something that can only be done on the web and cannot be done in Avante (5 workflows - custom quote entry, 110; custom quote change, 120; convert quote, 130; price discrepancy, 260; launch web, 005 - we only track 005s when none of the preceding 4 types are done in a web session - these could be stock price checks, creation and sharing of stock carts, order status checks, etc. ). PLUS stock orders (030). These should be done on the web, and most probably are, but need to be footnoted because, technically, they can still be done in Avante. When done from the web, it is automatically tracked as a workflow, but the workflow count could include a small number of Avante workflows.
- Web or Avante ? - something that can be done on the web or in Avante, and may manually be tracked as a workflow from the web if the rep chooses. (Typically when something that started out on the web is put on hold.) There are 9 of this type of workflow. These workflow counts may include some web transactions, but more likely they were Avante transactions? (For example, check order status, stock check, price check, etc.)
- Last but not least - what is not being tracked here?
According to anonymous sources (who may have their biases), CE reps still bypass workflows to do things like provide pricing, check order status, etc. - in spite of improvements to the Avante bill to lookup process, and in spite of training. I do not know how widespread this is.
II. Have shipping notifications had an impact on use of Avante for checking order status?
Hard to say. Again, “After” below is after the real launch of shipping notifications. The training may have had the most impact (period following training in center column) Then again, we have no idea how many times CE is bypassing workflows in Avante to provide order status to customers who still call in (or who, unbeknownst to them, are not receiving them).
Price discrepancies
Here are price discrepancy emails sent (since we began tracking) and email links clicked; note, we did not begin tracking the clicks until mid-March. Orders with price discrepancies are also automatically tracked as workflows in Avante. The Avante number is about 20% higher overall. I am looking into to that.
