Laddawn.com : Multiple sessions

Summary

These are notes regarding CE's need to have multiple web sessions with unique customer IDs open simultaneously.  CE can currently have 3 such sessions going in Avante. We explored whether this will continue to be necessary when most of these transactions are handled through the web interface, in which case we need a solution that enables users to have multiple browser tabs or windows open, each with unique customer IDs (and associated cookies, etc.).  We concluded the answer is yes.

Data gathering and conclusions

In mid-July (2013) Meme asked each worker to note each time he/she had a session open and opened a second before closing the first.

Summary findings

• The average person opens up a second session before closing the first 12 times per day.
• The minimum was 0.
• The maximum was 37.
• The standard deviation was 8.

A few important notes to color in the story:

1. New people have multiple sessions open more than veterans (they don’t work fast enough or know enough to close sessions quickly before a new one comes there way).
2. People on the phone have more sessions open at once.  Phone calls come whether you’re working on something or not.
