In our previous meeting we discussed potential content that we might include in the narrative thread. We decided to walk away and visit well known social media platforms to identify what made the sites compelling. The following ideas were shared:

  • 2 column approach
  • Easy navigation from top buttons

Foursquare

  • Badges given for challenges completed
  • (negative) required location just to login

Youtube

  • Persistent login
  • Easily available & centrally featured search
  • Editable history
  • Dislike – recommendations based on watch / viewed history

Tumblr

  • Personalized following of blogs
  • Content driven
  • Tagging for different topics

We also revisited the layout discussion & content discussion from last week. We started thinking about how the The Experience might look and feel different for different types of users:

Finally we adopted the title “The Experience” for the device formerly known as the Walled Garden / Narrative Thread.
