Category Selection (Drop Down): There are 16 Categories from which to choose. To facilitate the presentation to the user, the most common selections (layflat and gusseted) will be placed at the top, followed by a thin line and then all of the selections in alphabetical order (a la Microsoft Word's font drop-down presentation).
Above the line:

LAYFLAT Category (1 of 16):

2. Choose
Default to "All", "-", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or more "All" options unchanged.

3. Add

How the 3. Add functionality works:
Upon clicking any one of the five Add function (default ►), Q&A Prompts are to be presented in shadow boxes. Selections made will be indicated by an abbreviated summary word(s) when closed. Users may click on abbreviations to see full choices in reopened shadow box.

Material + Additives

All current options are to be available. The shadow box will present 2-3 rounds of questions (as provided now on the current site). LLD, Antistatic, VCI, Clarity, Non-Slip, Non-Scratch…then, Metallocene, AntiBlock, High Slip UVI/UVA.

• Polypropylene (PP) will be added the Materials & Additives list (1^st list of options).
• HDPE will be added to the Materials & Additives list (1^st list of options).  *** IT WAS DECIDED THAT HIGH DENSITY TRASH LINERS WOULD BECOME ITS OWN CATEGORY INSTEAD
• Upon selection of either PP or HDPE, no other Material & Additives options will be allowed.

Even though we convert and sell Black Conductive, we’ll not offer it here – it’s a small enough niche that having it under Static Control category will be enough.

In any case in which 1 option is selected, “Standard” will change to that item.  Metallocene, for example. Since it’s not practical to try to abbreviate more than one altered selection in that space, if 2 or more options are selected, “Modified” will be the default abbreviation.

Color

The shadow box will reveal all the same color options (Light Green, Medium Blue, Red, Brown, Grey, Orange, Yellow, Black, Baby Blue, Sky Blue, White, Buff, Dark Green, Pink) and same strength options (Tint, Color, Opaque for Black) as found on today's web site.
If Antistatic is selected, Pink will be the default color (but allow clear or any other color).
If VCI is selected, Medium Blue will be the default color (but allow clear or any other color). ** 3/4-Changed from Sky Blue to Medium Blue
For PP and HDPE, no color options will be allowed.
If modified, "Clear" will change to "Color, Level" (Red-Tint, for example). Some colors will have to be abbreviated, i.e. "Lt.Grn.,Color".

Printing

If bag size and film choice allows, the Random Repeat option is to be shown in a shadow box, otherwise "None" is the only option. (Clicking on "None" should generate a message that printing is not allowed for this configuration.) Current Random Repeat questions will apply here.

We will need to grey or take out the ability to print with the same color as the bag. For example, a customer selects a black bag we will need to eliminate the ability for a customer to accidentally select black printing.
Printing will not be an option for either PP or HDPE (Materials & Options).
If modified, "None" will change to "Random Repeat".

Venting

Where the options allow, this shadow box will follow the same criteria and questions we have now – with the exception of "Standard Mattress Bag Venting".
Venting will not be allowed for PP or HDPE (Materials & Options).
If modified, "None" will change to "Standard", "Butterfly", or "Microperf".

Packaging

In this shadow box, there are 4 options: 1) Cases, 2) Rolls Boxed, 3) Rolls Cradle Packed, 4) In Cases, Polylined. (A caution will note that Polylined costs more.) Cradle Packed and Polylined will not be allowed for PP or HDPE.  If modified, "Boxed" will change to "Rolls Boxed", "Cradle Packed", or "Cases Polylined".

Note on V-Board Options from 6/26 Meeting: 

There is a narrow slice of the bags we offer that may be folded (through a V-Board). To address this, we decided to add Folded in Half as an option under Packaging - where that option is available.  In the shadow box, there will be 8 options - 1) Cases, 2) Folding in Half, in Cases, 3) Rolls Boxed, 4) Folded in Half, Rolls Boxed, 5) Rolls Cradle Packed, 6) Folded in Half, Rolls Cradle Packed, 7) Cases, Polylined, 8) Folded in Half, in Polylined Cases.

If modified, the abbreviated Packaging Options will change from "Cases" to "Rolls Boxed", "Folded, Rolls Boxed", "Cradle Packed", "Folded, Cradle Packed", "Cases, Polylined", "Folded, Cases, Polylined". 

GUSSETED Category (2 of 16):

2. Choose
Default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or more "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Cases (same as Layflat)

The Gusseted Category "Add" options for Materials & Additives, Color, Printing, Venting, and Packaging will be identical to the Layflat Category's "Add" options. To provide the user with multiple ways to quote mattress bags, "Standard Mattress Bag Venting" will be included when the system recognizes dimensions consistent with Mattress bags.

BIN LINER Category (3 of 16):

2. Choose
These are just large gusseted bags.
Default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed.

As large Gusseted Bags, the Bin Liner "Add" options will be identical to the Gusseted Category's "Add" options – with 2 exceptions:

1. Packaging will only include "Rolls Boxed" or "Cradle Packed" (no case options).
2. Antistatic, Clarity, PP & HDPE will be removed from the Materials & Additive list.

FURNITURE Category (4 of 16):

2. Choose
Default to "All", "-", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or more "All" options unchanged.

Furniture Bags will require a cautionary reminder for users that, while they open along the width (like any bag), those openings will be on the side as you pull the bags from the roll. This should be provided as a popup when the user selects Furniture as a category.

Here is the current warning (from today's Laddawn.com) -  
You should know:  For all bags, width is defined as the dimension that runs along the opening of the bag. For furniture bags, unlike standard bags, that opening will be along the side as it is pulled off the roll.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed

The Furniture Category "Add" options will be identical to the Layflat or Gusseted Category's "Add" options, with these exceptions:

1. VCI & UVI/UVA will be omitted from Materials & Additives list.
2. PP and HDPE will not be allowed.
3. For Packaging, only "Rolls Boxed" or "Cradle Packed" will be available for selection.

GARMENT Category (5 of 16):

2. Choose

As Laddawn offers a relatively small set of Garment bags and no outside manufactured or custom options, Size and Gauge should be greyed out.

3. Add
Default to: No defaults for all 5 Add Entries (None are editable), greyed out headers only. 
 
Once Garment is selected as a Category, the only thing the user can do is edit zip code. Hitting Find will generate a list of results containing all of Laddawn's Stock Garment Bags.

ICE BAG Category (6 of 16): 

2. Choose
Default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.

Default to: Metallocene, Clear, None, None, Cases.

Materials & Additives

No other options (other than Metallocene) are to be allowed.

Color, Printing, Venting, and Packaging

Lots of options: same as Layflat or Gusseted 

10/24/13 We decided today to open the Ice Bag category a bit in recognition of the volume of business we do with "Cold Storage" bags and because people will price both layflat and gusseted versions.

1. We will spit this Category drop down into 2 and rename them to reflect the broader application, layflat and gusseted:
   1. Ice / Cold Storage Layflat
   2. Ice / Cold Storage Gusseted
2. Now, if (a) is chosen, only Width and Length will be shown; if (b) is chosen, all 3 special dimensions will be shown.
3. The level 3 defaults and options will remain as before 
   1. The defaults will be Metallocene, Clear, None, None, Cases.
   2. The options under each will remain as before.

LITERATURE | MERCHANDISE | NEWSPAPER BAG Category (7 of 16):

2. Choose
As Laddawn offers relatively small sets of Literature, Merchandise, and Newspaper bags and no outside manufactured or custom options, Size and Gauge should be greyed out.

3. Add
Default to: No defaults for all 5 Add Entries (None are editable), greyed out headers only. 
 
Once Lit | Merch | Newspaper is selected as a Category, the only thing the user can do is edit zip code. Hitting Find will generate a list of results containing all of Laddawn's Stock Literature, Merchandise, and Newspaper bags.

MATTRESS Category (8 of 16):

2. Choose
These are just large gusseted bags.
Default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or more "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Low Slip, Clear, None, Stand Mattress, Rolls Boxed.

As large Gusseted Bags the Mattress Category "Add" options will differ from Gusseted Bags in 4 significant ways:
(1) "Non-Slip" will be the default Material & Additive,
(2) "UVI/UVA", and "VCI" will be removed from the Material & Additive option list.
(3) Venting will default to "Stand Mattress"; "Butterfly" and "Normal" will be the other options, and
(4) Packaging defaults to "Rolls Boxed"; "Cradle Packed" will be the other option. 

PALLET COVER Category (9 of 16):

2. Choose
This section is identical to the Bin Liner Category (Bin Liners = Pallet Covers).
Default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed.

As with Bin Liners, the Pallet Cover "Add" options will be identical to the Gusseted Category's "Add" options – with 2 exceptions:

1. Packaging will only include "Rolls Boxed" or "Cradle Packed" (no case options).
2. Antistatic, Clarity, PP & HDPE will be removed from the Materials & Additive list.

PRE-OPENED BAGS ON ROLLS Category (10 of 16):

2. Choose
Default to "All", "-", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed.

Pre-Opened Bags on Rolls are only available in stock or through our outside vendor in Standard Materials, Non-Printed, Non-Vented, in Rolls Boxed.
There are 6 items offered as white front / clear back. There are 6 items offered as White Front / Clear Back. To accommodate these, White Front / Clear Back will be offered as a color choice. Clear will be the default under Color, but White Front / Clear Back will be the alternative, abbreviated as "Wt Frt / Clr Bk" 

3/1/13 - It was decided:

We won't allow any level 3s - instead showing white front/clear back as an exact match along with its clear version of the same dimensions.  There are a total of 63 stock choices.

POLYPROPYLENE BAG Category (11 of 16):

5/28/14 - Polypropylene will be split into  Polypropylene - Layflat  &  Polypropylene - Gusseted

• Polypropylene - Layflat: This category will use the existing Polypropylene architecture. Level 2 will "grey out" the depth selection, only allow 1.5 Mil to be entered, and all Level 3 selections are greyed out (14 SKUs)
  
• Polypropylene - Gusseted: This category will mirror the existing Polypropylene architecture, except we will allow the user to enter their depth dimension (again 1.5 Mil only & Level 3 selections are greyed out) (9 SKUs)

2. Choose
Default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.
Note that our offering of Polypropylene bags is small enough to be treated like, say, Lit | Merch | Newspaper category – in which size and gauge options are greyed out along with the add defaults. In this case, Find would generate the list of 20 or so stock items.
To generate leads on sizes requested but not stocked, and in consideration of the category's growth potential, asking for sizes and gauge under Choose seems right (even though Add options will default to unchangeable values).

3. Add
Default to: Polypropylene, Clear, None, None, Cases.

The Polypropylene Category "Add" options for Materials & Additives will have Polypropylene, and nothing else. Color, Printing, Venting, and Packaging will only have the default options shown above. 

SANDWICH | SILVERWARE Category (12 of 16):

2. Choose
As Laddawn offers relatively small sets of Sandwich & Silverware bags and no outside manufactured or custom options, Size and Gauge should be greyed out.

3. Add
Default to: No defaults for all 5 Add Entries (None are editable), greyed out headers only. 

Once Sandwich | Silverware is selected as a Category, the only thing the user can do is edit zip code. Hitting Find will generate a list of results containing all of Laddawn's Stock Sandwich | Silverware bags.

SHRINK BAG Category (13 of 16):

As Laddawn offers a relatively small set of Shrink bags and no outside manufactured or custom options, Size and Gauge should be greyed out.

Default to: No defaults for all 5 Add Entries (None are editable), greyed out headers only. 
 
Once Shrink is selected as a Category, the only thing the user can do is edit zip code. Hitting Find will generate a list of results containing all of Laddawn's Stock Shrink bags. 

• Prod Class Code: SHB - 13500, 13510, 13520, 13530, 13540

STATIC CONTROL Category (14 of 16):

2. Choose
Default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. (Of course, we only stock Layflat, but we can make antistatic gusseted bags.) Users search all or a subset of stock items by leaving one or more "All" options unchanged. 6/25/14 - it was decided that a mixture of Layflat/Gusseted isn't going to work because if no depth is entered, no MOD result is shown.  This category will be split into three:  Static Control - Layflat, Static Control - Gusseted and Static Shielding.  Defaulting will change as follows:

Poly Bags/Static Control will be split into 3 categories:

1. Static Control – Layflat

2. Static Control – Gusseted
3. Static Shielding (note: this is only layflat so don’t need to specify in the title)
4. Defaulting up front for Static Shielding:  Material = Trans Metallic Shielding, default Gauge to 3mil, No level 3 selections (just stock select)
5. Defaulting up front for Static Control: continue to default Anti Static, AmineFree Pink, Std Low Density *** DO NOT DEFAULT MILSPEC
1. If click FIND before gauge is entered, selection will happen for just options that were entered
2. If gauge is entered: If >= 4mil, default to Mil Spec. If < 4mil, default to Other% - 6%
3. Fix validation on Gauge for Static control that stops them from entering < 4mil that from happening)
4. Cliff will make the following changes to the stock spreadsheet:
1. Stock 2mil can be left at 6% (lower gauges at 6% is not mil spec)
2. remove the Mil Spec from gauge 3 stock items, which are Transmetallic Shielding items
3. remove the percent value of 6 from 4mil stock bags that are Mil Spec

 
3. Add
Default to: Antistatic, Pink, None, None, Cases.

Static Control Materials & Additives must include Antistatic, Conductive, and Transmetallic Shielding (and nothing else).

• Colors: When Antistatic is selected, Pink is the default and all colors are possible. When Conductive is selected, only black is possible. When Transmetallic Shielding is selected, only Clear is possible.
• Printing: All Random 1-Color options are available for the colors selected for Antistatic and Black Conductive. Printing is not available for Transmetallic Shielding.
• Venting: Standard Layflat or Gusseted bag venting is available for all Antistatic and Conductive options. Venting is not available for Transmetallic Shielding.
• Packaging: Cased, Rolls Boxed, Cradle Packed and Polylined Boxes are available for Antistatic and Conductive. Only Cases are available for Transmetallic Shielding.
   

TRASH LINERS Category (15 of 16): 

2. Choose
These may be either gusseted or layflat bags. (Depth will have to be set to "0" by the user to obtain a layflat result.) Default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship To Zip, and "All" for Gauge.

2/28/13 - Trash Liners were split into 3 separate product categories:

• Liners - LD: Material will be forced to 'Standard' - no Additive choices
• Liners - LLD: Material will be forced to 'LLD' - no Additive choices
• Liners - HD: All fields will be greyed out - All high density stock choices will be shown in Results

All Color Options Available

No venting or printing options

Packaging - default to Cases but allow changes to Rolls.  No polylining option.

10 24 13 - Trash Liners will be split yet one more time -

Liners LD will become Liners - Layflat LD & Liners - Gusseted LD. 

So there will now be 4 Liners Categories:

• Liners - Layflat LD: Material will be forced to 'Standard' - no Additive choices
• Liners - Gusseted LD: Material will be forced to 'Standard' - no Additive choices
• Liners -  Gusseted LLD: Material will be forced to 'LLD' - no Additive choices
• Liners - Layflat HD: All fields will be greyed out - All high density stock choices will be shown in Results

Note that to make the Liners Categories match, we'll show the Layflat or Gusseted designation for all 4 categories.

3. Add

Materials & Additives must include HDPE, along with LLD, Non-Slip, Non-Scratch, Metallocene, AntiBlock, High Slip, and UVI/UVA (PP, Antistatic, and Clarity will not be offered). When HDPE is selected in Materials & Additives this will change the gauge measurement to "mic"
Color, Printing, Venting will be the same as the Layflat and Gusseted categories above.
Packaging should allow 3 options– "Boxed", "Rolls Boxed", "Cradle Packed" – Polylined is not necessary for liners. 

WICKETED BAG Category (16 of 16):

2. Choose
As Laddawn offers a relatively small set of Wicketed bags and no outside manufactured or custom options, Size and Gauge should be greyed out.

3. Add
Default to: No defaults for all 5 Add Entries (None are editable), greyed out headers only.

Once Wicketed is selected as a Category, the only thing the user can do is edit zip code. Hitting Find will generate a list of results containing all of Laddawn's stock Wicketed bags. 

•  Prod Class Code: WIC - 8020, 8023, 8027, 8030, 8040

Other Notes:

1. Setting size and gauge inputs to "All" will convey the option of searching a subgroup's stock alternatives. For example, "I wonder what Laddawn has for 2 mil Pallet Covers?". This will help supplant the convenience offered by the "calculator" in the current site.
2. Bags or Rolls was moved to the last of the 5 Add options, "Packaging". It's sort of peculiar and inconsistent with other item searches if placed in the Category options (Layflat Cases, Layflat Rolls, Gusseted Cases, Gusseted Rolls).
3. When the default is left as "Rolls Boxed" and a Cradle Packed option is available, a Cradle Packed option should be provided as a "You Might Also Consider".
4. When the defaults are the only option (in 3 Add), those defaults should appear - but be greyed back.
5. We'll need to capture the requests that yield no results.  For example, a request fora size of polypropylene bag we don't carry will inform conversations on which items to carry.
