Grouping 3: Tubing & Sleeves

 


Category Selection (Drop Down): There are 4 Categories from which to choose. To facilitate the presentation to the user, let's keep Layflat first, followed by Gusseted for Tubing and then Sleeves. Since there are only four, we can take some liberty and not worry about alphabetical order.
Note: the Category selections for Layflat and Gusseted should include the word "Tubing" to help ensure that users don't accidentally think they're in the bags grouping.

2. Choose
Default to "All", "-", "-" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or both "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed.
 

How the 3. Add functionality works:

Upon clicking any one of the five Add function (default ►), Q&A Prompts are to be presented in shadow boxes. Selections made will be indicated by an abbreviated summary word(s) when closed. Users may click on abbreviations to see full choices in reopened shadow box.

Material + Additives

The shadow box will present 2-3 rounds of questions (as provided now on the current site).

• LLD, Clarity, Non-Slip, Non-Scratch…then, Metallocene, AntiBlock, High Slip, UVI/UVA.  3/14/13 - Polypropylene s/b disabled
• To accommodate Static Control customers, Antistatic and Black Conductive should also be added.

In any case in which 1 option is selected, "Standard" will change to that option. Metallocene, for example. Since it's not practical to try to abbreviate more than one altered selection in that space, if 2 or more options are selected, "Modified" will be the default abbreviation.

Color

The shadow box will reveal all the same color options (Light Green, Medium Blue, Red, Brown, Grey, Orange, Yellow, Black, Baby Blue, Sky Blue, White, Buff, Dark Green, Pink) and same strength options (Tint, Color, Opaque for Black) as found on today's web site.
If Antistatic is selected, Pink will be the default color, but other colors will be options.
If Black Conductive is selected, Black will be the default color (no other options).
If modified, "Clear" will change to "Color, Level" (Red-Tint, for example). Some colors will have to be abbreviated, i.e. "Lt.Grn., Color".

Printing

If tubing size and film choice allows, the Random Repeat option is to be shown in a shadow box, otherwise "None" is the only option. (Clicking on "None" should generate a message that printing is not allowed for this configuration.) Current Random Repeat questions will apply here.
If modified, "None" will change to "Random Repeat".

Venting

Where the options allow, this shadow box will follow the same criteria and questions we have now for tubing.
If modified, "None" will change to "Standard", "Butterfly", or "Microperf".

Packaging

In this shadow box, there are 2 options: 1) Rolls Boxed and 3) Rolls Cradle Packed.
If modified, "Rolls Boxed" will change to "Cradle Packed". 

GUSSETED TUBING CATEGORY (2 of 4):

2. Choose
Default to "All", "All", "-" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed.

The Gusseted Tubing Category "Add" options will be identical to the Layflat Tubing Category's "Add" options.

Layflat Sleeves are essential Layflat Bags, perforated like bags on rolls or cut and boxed. As such, this should default to "All", "-", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed

The Layflat Sleeves Category "Add" options will be nearly identical to the Layflat Tubing or Gusseted Tubing Category's "Add" options with the following exceptions:
(1) Black Conductive will be omitted from the Material + Additives options.  3/14/13 - Polypropylene s/b disabled
(2) For Packaging, only "Cases" and "Cases Polylined" will be options as well as "Rolls Boxed" and "Cradle Packed".

2. Choose
Gusseted Sleeves are essential Gusseted Bags, perforated like bags on rolls or cut and boxed. As such, this should default to "All", "All", "All" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.

3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed

The Gusseted Sleeves Category "Add" options will be nearly identical to the Layflat Sleeves Category's. 
 
 
Notes:

1. If Gusseted Sleeves are not ordered (it's available on configurator now, but may not be used), it may be worth discontinuing.
2. Likewise, if Sleeves in cases are not ordered, it may be worth discontinuing. Per comments below, leave cases as packaging option.
