Grouping 4: Sheeting & Film
Category Selection (Drop Down): There are 7 Categories from which to choose. To facilitate the presentation to the user, the most common selections (Centerfold, Single Wound, Gusseted) will be placed at the top, followed by a thin line and then the four remaining selections, Construction & Agriculture, Double Wound, Sheets – Cut, and Sheets – Perforated (a la Word's font drop-down presentation).

(1 of 7) SINGLE WOUND CATEGORY:
2. Choose
Default to "All", "-", "-" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or both "All" options unchanged.
3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed.
How the 3. Add functionality works:
Upon clicking any one of the five Add function (default ►), Q&A Prompts are to be presented in shadow boxes. Selections made will be indicated by an abbreviated summary word(s) when closed. Users may click on abbreviations to see full choices in reopened shadow box.
Material + Additives
All current options are to be available. The shadow box will present 2-3 rounds of questions (as provided now on the current site). LLD, Antistatic, VCI, Clarity, Non-Slip, Non-Scratch…then, Metallocene, AntiBlock, High Slip UVI/UVA.
- Polypropylene (PP) will be not be available on the Materials & Additives list.
- HDPE will not be added to the Materials & Additives list.
Even though we convert and sell Black Conductive, we'll not offer it here – there has not been any demand for Black Conductive Sheeting..
In any case in which 1 option is selected, "Standard" will change to that item. Metallocene, for example. Since it's not practical to try to abbreviate more than one altered selection in that space, if 2 or more options are selected, "Modified" will be the default abbreviation.
Color
The shadow box will reveal all the same color options (Light Green, Medium Blue, Red, Brown, Grey, Orange, Yellow, Black, Baby Blue, Sky Blue, White, Buff, Dark Green, Pink) and same strength options (Tint, Color, Opaque for Black) as found on today's web site.
If Antistatic is selected, Pink will be the default color (cannot change as the pink is really part of the resin blend).
If VCI is selected, Sky Blue will be the default color.
If modified, "Clear" will change to "Color, Level" (Red, Tint, for example). Some colors will have to be abbreviated, i.e. "Lt.Grn.,Color".
Printing
If film size and material choice allows, the Random Repeat option is to be shown in a shadow box, otherwise "None" is the only option. (Clicking on "None" should generate a message that printing is not allowed for this configuration.) Current Random Repeat questions will apply here.
If modified, "None" will change to "Random Repeat".
Venting
Where the options allow, this shadow box will follow the same criteria and questions we have now – with the exception of "Standard Mattress Bag Venting", of course.
If modified, "None" will change to "Standard", "Butterfly", or "Microperf".
Packaging
In this shadow box, there are 2 options: 1) Rolls Boxed, 2) Rolls Cradle Packed.
If modified, "Rolls Boxed" will change to "Cradle Packed".
(2 of 7) CENTERFOLD CATEGORY:
2. Choose
Default to "All", "-", "-" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.
Width Listing: For centerfolded sheeting and film it is customary to list the folded width of the film. When a customer enters 18" this is the width of the roll but when the product is unfolded the customer is using a 36" wide film/sheet.
Recommendation: We could apply the pop-up reminder here to notify the customer of this industry practice, along with the ability to eliminate further notices.
A-Wind Vs. B-Wind: We will need to ask the user to designate where to slit the film (For A-Wind the slit is along the right side so the centerfold opens in the direction of a book but is fed Over the roll, while B-Wind the slit falls on the right but is fed Under the roll). There are no reasons (cost or efficiency of one or the other) to push people one way or the other.
Recommendation: Rather than ask up front or provide a shadow box of options, A-Wind and B-Wind will be provided as 2 separate results. Clicking on the description will provide a definition of each along with the usual descriptive text.
Since there is no cost associated with one over the other, no second configuration is necessary, only that the slit location is added to description and work order.
3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed (same as Single Wound)
The Centerfold "Add" options will be identical to the Single Wound and Gusseted Categories' "Add" options.
(3 of 7) GUSSETED CATEGORY:
2. Choose
Default to "All", "All", "-" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.
Center Slit vs. Slit Gusset: Currently we ask the user to designate where to slit the film (gusset or center). There are no reasons (cost or efficiency of one or the other) to push people one way or the other.
Recommendation: rather than ask up front or provide a shadow box of options, Center Slit and Slit Gusset will be provided as 2 separate results.
The Gusseted "Add" options will be identical to the Single Wound and Centerfold Categories' "Add" options.
(4 of 7) CONSTRUCTION & AGRICULTURE FILM CATEGORY:
2. Choose
Construction & Agriculture (C&A) Film may be either Wound Single or Folded, or Slit Gusseted (Slit Center or Slit Gusset). That said, those options will be offered in the results – no need to offer a Depth value. C&A has been split into 3 product categories: Clear, Natural, and Black. We will disable all level 2 and 3 options and will only do a stock select. The MOD option will be done as part of Phase II.
Programming here will be challenged to provide the configuration we prefer to make / provide for our customers. Width will dictate whether the customer will see Single Wound (small), Centerfold (medium), or Gusseted (large).
The same rules for A vs. B Wind and Center Slit and Slit Gusseted will come into play for displaying results.
3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed
Color, Printing, Venting, and Packaging options will be identical to that of the previous film options. However, Material & Additives will have just 2 options: Standard and G30 Blend.
(5 of 7) DOUBLE WOUND CATEGORY: THIS WAS MOVED TO PHASE II
2. Choose
These are essentially two layers of Single Wound Film on Rolls. Default to "All", "- ", "-" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or both "All" options unchanged.
3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed.
The Double Wound "Add" options will be identical to the Single Wound, Centerfold, and Gusseted Categories' "Add" options.
(6 of 7) SHEETS – CUT CATEGORY: THIS WAS MOVED TO PHASE II
2. Choose
This should be treated similarly to Single Wound Sheeting – in that it's run the same way, just cut and boxed. Default to "All", "- ", "-" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.
There was only one customer (a few years ago) who requested sheets Centerfolded in cases. Let's not worry about that here.
3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Cases.
The Sheets - Cut "Add" options will be identical to the Single Wound, Centerfold, and Gusseted Categories' "Add" options with the exception of Packaging. Here, only "Boxed" and "Boxed Polylined" will be offered.
(7 of 7) SHEETS – PERFORATED CATEGORY: THIS WAS SPLIT INTO 3 CATEGORIES (SINGLEWOUND, CENTERFOLD, GUSSETED)
2. Choose
This should be treated similarly to C&A in that the use may get Perforated Sheets Single Wound, Centerfold, or Gusseted. Split into 3 categories: Sheets Perforated-Singlewound, Sheets Perforwated-Centerfold, Sheets Perforated-Gusseted. All 3 categories will have length enabled. Only gusseted will have Depth enabled. Default to "All", "-", "-" for Size, Contact's Ship-To Zip, and "All" for Gauge. Note that users can search all or a subset of stock solutions by leaving one or all "All" options unchanged.
As with C&A, programming here will be challenged to provide the configuration we prefer to make / provide for our customers. Width will dictate whether the customer will see Single Wound (small), Center Fold (medium), or Gusseted (large).
The same rules for A vs. B Wind and Center Slit and Slit Gusseted will come into play for displaying results.
3. Add
Default to: Standard, Clear, None, None, Rolls Boxed.
The Sheets - Perforated "Add" options will be identical to the Single Wound, Centerfold, and Gusseted Categories' "Add" options.
Other Notes:
- The decision to assume folding configurations for C&A and Perforated Sheets should be tested. Question: Will users not have access to a folding configuration that they want and we can do?
- The decision to provide 2 results (for A-Wind or B-Wind; Center Slit or Slit Gusseted) should be evaluated, too.
