What is change management?
Change management is an approach to transitioning individuals, teams, and organizations to a desired future state.
Rollout of new systems requires an organization and its customers to adapt to change. Hopefully all of that change is for the better - otherwise, what would be the point? - even so, some changes can seem disruptive or be difficult to adjust to, at first. If not anticipated and managed, such change can lead to negative perceptions of the new system, low user adoption, and unrealized ROI.
In our context, a key component of change management is to identify the specific "before and after" changes that our users - distributors and our own staff - will encounter when first using the new website, and to manage how these changes are perceived and received - through communication, training and other techniques.
If we can identify all the changes in advance, and plan for how distributors and staff will react to them (and maybe even influence that reaction), we can mitigate the disruptive effect of change.
