Jim, John, Ed, Judy, Susan, Cathy, Owen
Owen's priority through next week (and beyond if necessary) is fleshing out requirements for level 3 menus in the Shop widget. ASAP after that Susan and Steve will nail down design/UI for Ed.
Ed will finish integrating Neptune's work into the Shop widget to get it functioning again. He will also create "mid tier groups" for...
Judy will program validation and other routines in John's absence.
Someone will create a template to simplify and standardize programming.
Tension between desire to "let them do anything they want" v. conflicts between dimensions (W, D, L, G - level 2) and level 3 menus (mainly printing and venting) - forward/backward sequence of entry of choices. 2 scenarios:
- Incomplete dimensions - Printing cannot be set tiil dimensions entered. Attempt to set printing will generate warning that dimensions needed in order to proceed with printing choices.
- If dimensions are set, printing set, then dimensions changed, routine will check existing rules to see if it can be done; if some new dimension doesn't work, or requires further printing/venting input (calls prior settngs into question), warning will appear. ( ? )
Gauge
- Ed and John need to know what happens after full gauge selected to indicate the choice made. Susan will follow up with Steve et al. (part of Steve's backlog). Anticipating showing in widget, and including in details for search results.
- Some items are microns not mils. (missed this part) - a concern not an immediate concern.
Tool tip consistency
- Some tool tips serve different functions - static info v. dynamic, alerting, etc. Some differences are not inconsistent, but semantic.
Shadow box color consistency? All one color instead of context-specific color ( blue when emanating from Cart, purple when emanating from Shop, Saved items/carts, history) ?
Tabs - should active cart tab be gray when inactive; currently it is always blue (intentionally).
See following for examples of tabbed navigation with one special tab that has unique treatment that persists:
http://inkd.com/logos-branding-new-logo-company - sell
http://www.expedia.com/?rfrr=Head:Nav:Multi:Home - deals & offers
LinkedIn http://www.linkedin.com/home?trk=hb_tab_home_top - Home
Owen agreed to do something.

Agenda
Limitations to search parameters (Owen)
Technical design and programming estimates (John)
Note:
- Files located on Z drive (z\neptune); zip file attached to this page, download local copy if performance is an issue
- Need to click cart tab to see each cart state

Met with Developers (Jim,John,Judy,Ed)
We talked about the concept of getting estimates for the individual functional components that are being worked on . Since this truly is a collaborative effort John P agreed to be the person who will gather information and ultimately report out on design estimates. With that we dove into questions related to the Shop and Results area. Great questions were raised and we were able to answer some of the questions and/or provide direction for the research that will need to be done to figure out solutions to the desired functionality. It was clear though that some of the functional areas that are not designed yet will have impact of the ability to estimate the development time frame. What was agreed was that John and Ed will continue to flesh out the work with the idea of estimating the development time frame for Shop and Results and while doing so will document the outstanding questions in the Wiki. The short term goal is come away with some preliminary estimates that we can establish and fine tune on weekly basis as progress is made.
We did not get to Judy's Wiki's questions during this meeting.
We did not get into the Cart functionality at this meeting.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 7/26. I am going to schedule a place holder meeting on 7/24/12 to meet with John and Ed if it makes sense.
