Temp LOAP - Final
Temp LOAP - Rev3
Design Notes 1/3/2013
New Direction and functionality.
- Move Login to the homepage
Potential Issues/Questions
a. Visitor Login. Currently we allow customers to enter site as a visitor. What does this do and can it be removed from the site easily.
b. Laddawn Catalog and Outlet Center. Currently you need to be logged in to access both. Will need to provide and pop up message telling users they will need to Log in 1st.
- Remove TOC navigation from existing site including We are Laddawn, Articles and Profiles and Q&A.
Design Notes 12/31/2012
The worry for me with this design is going down the rat hole of effort vs. execution. We don't want to spend too many cycles on this but we do want to improve the homepage of the existing site if possible. This was my compromise...
What I did
a. bring in the brand colors/font(s) and incorporated them into the design where it made sense.
b. Kept the navigation exactly the same, both main top nav and side nav. All links on existing site will remain the same. This is the rat hole concern. I'd rather not touch the current information architecture of the site if possible.
c. Removed visual noise (purple horizontal line at top of page) and old school text liked "Welcome Visitor" and "Welcome to Laddawn".
d. Kept the overall shape of current content box the same. Thought it would be jarring if homepage and interior pages looked radically different.
e. Created 4 content chunks that will extend page vertically and create a better flow. They are main intro into stock/MOD programs, Info graphic on Nationwide Distribution, small link farm to expose important content buried in current site, and small Twitter feed.
