Overview

Conditions

User has entered full parameters, there is at least one exact stock, or one exact MOD match, and no more than one exact stock and MOD match. Without these conditions being met, logic for "broad" searches governs (detailed on parent Shop page).

Guiding principles

Logic should serve up "credible" alternatives only.

Alternative results should generally be "downselling" but there are some exceptions... such as?

Results should follow a progression of relevancy

  • Identical products, with different (lower-cost only?) packaging alternative (e.g., rolls, boxed > cradlepacked) first
  • Followed by standard alternatives to specific configurations (e.g. search for a black bag produces, in addition to the exact match(es), the identical clear alternative)
  • Followed by products with close dimensions (within ranges) - determined on the basis of all dimensions, not each dimension on a standalone basis. Also, consider layflat alternatives to gusseted (and vice versa), within certain ranges. E.g. a 30 x 42 layflat could be a credible substitute for a 12-18-42 gusseted.
  • When the top level category is bags, items from another category (recloseables) may be offered, and vice versa, provided they fall within definition of "credible" substitute ("credible" as now implied by the detailed, supporting specifications - see child pages).
