Search results

Obtained sign off on the  design and on using shadow box for display of product specs. Tabled the issue of whether shadow box should include generic description along with specs; more analysis (in particular content analysis) required.

  • Different audiences for this content  distributor v. end user. What mechanism for giving user access to more detail, such as spec sheets - link from shadow box? Expand/collapse? If a link, does it open a new page or shadow box? If so, how does the user navigate back to search results and maintain the original state of those results? Differences between generic descriptions for stock and custom.

We agreed that the key differentiators for "You might also consider" (YMAC) results (close matches) should be highlighted, so the user can easily see how this result differs from the exact match (other than price). For example, with the sample the data used in the design, "Cradlepacked" should be highlighted.

Active cart

Obtained sign off on the base design above the order summary, including prior handling of price increases/decreases and MOD price. (One small change: spell out MOD.)

  • Order summary is going to require some additional work. Had philosophical discussion about the treatment of freight in the summary - not design wise, content wise; concerned that the difference between freight "included" and "free " freight is not clear to the average user, and that we are perpetuating Laddawn's separation of stock and MOD, when we've worked so hard to unify them in the shop widget. Should a new customer (distributor) have to understand Laddawn's distinctions on freight, and shouldn't this be simplified?

3 scenarios, first two expected to be most typical:

    1. All stock items in cart
    2. All MOD items in cart
    3. Combination of stock and MOD items in cart

There should be 4 lines in summary:

    • Product Total (MOD and Stock combined): $N
    • Web discount $N*.01
    • Freight: $0 or $ amount labeled "estimate" (depending on items/quantities in cart - it's an estimate when stock items total less than $500 and/or user has opted for "freight not included" on MOD items) (???)
    • Cart total

When freight is estimate, if applicable, there is some indication, via clickability or hover effect, that at checkout stage user may be able to save on freight by having stock ride on custom.

We should also work in Laddawn's current functionality, showing the specific dollar value to increase stock order by to get free shipping.

Share icon

We liked all of Steve's options, including his modified version of the Share Icon Project icon, but in the end, we decided to go with their original version (with Laddawn's color, not green).
