Laddawn.com : March project coordination

Post-school vacation week catch up and check in

  • Status of LOAP
  • Status of recruiting
  • Status of current design & programming tasks
    • With statuses via email incorporated into WorkZone, launch date has jumped from 7/18 to 8/14
    • Both design and programming are behind, but keeping pace w/each other. If programming picks up with added resources, design needs to pick up to keep pace. Timeframe for checkout design work is optimistic, given our track record with other areas.
  • With regular updates to staging, it is time to begin to think more seriously about QA and dedicate time/resources to it - both for fidelity to design specifications, as well as producing accurate outputs (search results, etc.)
  • Content work, including design
  • Videoconferencing - need to decide if we want to subscribe to VSee - still haven't tried Shoretel (need John D to enable it?).

1) LOAP - I'll speak for John a bit but he expects to have LOAP implemented in a test area today.  If all looks good we can implement it soon thereafter.

2) Recruiting - We were unable to land the Web Developer that we were interested in (Vani) and have engaged in a new search.  Have had some interviews this week but are not ready to close yet.

3) QA - good question. lets discuss.

4) VSee - we need to do a major upgrade to Shoretel  to be able to use Video Conferencing.  Check with JD on a date for this.   I am hesitant to commit to something long term without seeing if Shoretel will be a good (and free) solution for us.   What are we missing by using the free version for the short term - is it limiting us in important ways?    Note: VSee provided us an automated update recently and it caused us some problems.  Owen and I worked through it with them and determined that we could not use it when going out through the Proxy Server.  VSee is looking into it but we have a workaround for now - will clarify when you are in here to make sure you can use it.

I agree, if Shoretel meets all our needs, then that is what we should use long term. Steve and I like Vsee as it combines video conferencing well with instant chat; it seems easier than Nefsis, but we could still get by w/that if necessary.  I know Owen and Parke prefer Vsee over Skype, and they can't use Nefsis.  I think it is possible to subscribe to Vsee on a month to month basis, so if the ETA for Shoretel is a ways off, perhaps we should consider that as a short term solution - unless the proxy server workaround is a major pain. -SP
