Laddawn.com : Refresher on fax-only customers

No sharing

Currently if you are a fax only customer, you, or CE on your behalf, cannot share items or carts - even if you have an email address and website password.  You always get this message (there is a Share item variation of it too):

So in order to provide a customer with 14-day pricing and confirmation of item details, CE must capture the screen, paste that into a word document or a bogus email, and print that and fax it.However, considering how inefficient that is for CE, that likely was not our intent; specifications from a year ago called for the following:

When the Share option is used and it is a Fax Only contact (or CE working on behalf of a Fax Only contact), the system will display a popup telling the operator that the Item will be faxed and offer them the opportunity to confirm or deny the action.  If they choose to proceed, the Optio system will be invoked to generate and fax the printed quote, otherwise no further action will be invoked.

I am trying to determine if failure to implement this was an oversight, or if someone made a deliberate decision not to follow through on allowing quotations to be faxed.

Checkout

We are faxing order acknowledgments to these customers. However, when they checkout, this is the pop-up confirmation that they see online:

Chuck (of all people) had opened a ticket about a year ago, suggesting an alternate approach - change the message to "Order confirmations have been sent to:" and the "to" will be either email address(es) or a fax number. (Or perhaps both...)

Workflow preferences

Even though we are faxing order acknowledgments to these customers, and not allowing them to do sharing of any sort, we are still allowing them to set preferences for CCs on a) shared items and carts and b) order acknowledgments. If you set a preference to have someone CC'd, their name will show up in the CC line in the Checkout summary step, and will also show up in the pop-up:

... but no email will actually get sent to the person you're supposedly CC'ing.

Should we suppress this?
